Mr Universe says: Respect and honor...

Welcome/Welkom/Witamy,

Saturday the 12th of May:

Please have a look at the following link: How (!) to attract attention on DeviantArt. :-D

Other than all that, I've decided to pay some attention to this little corner of the world of mine. ;-) I might when I feel like it, change the whole design of this thingy or I might not!? What I did do however is move the excerpts I had on this page to another page. I sincerely hope this will speed things up for you a bit and perhaps look even somewhat more nicer on your mobile. ;-)

If you like then you can follow me on Twitter now! :-D

Friday the 30th of September:

As you might have noticed the past week!? This little WWW corner of mine has been off-line for most of the week. Guess what it isn't anymore. :-D

Contrary to what you can read further down the page. I've temporarily suspended both the ssl counterpart of this page as well as my donating bandwidth to the Tor network bit.

I might or might not, in the near future, provide you with an ssl enabled domain, preferably run from my own home and thus completely under my control. For now my dyndns hostname should suffice. ;-) And Tor? <-- When I feel like enabling it again.

Wednesday the 22nd of June:

I've two major updates I wish to convey to you. The first one being that my provider has increased my bandwidth both her up (3Mb/s) and down (30Mb/s) speed, which comes at a little price though. They've also given me a new router, for me being such a loyal customer, SWEET! ;-)

All this means that A: My pages will automagically start to load a lot faster and B: I am going to increase the bandwidth I currently am offering to the Tor network to 1Mb (which is approx 128 KB/s (Fyi: that's going to be a third of my new bandwidth))!

The second and last update for today would be that after I get my new router and stuff I as a first priority am going to upgrade my server (I can't run on Karmic forever, mind you!). I'll tell beforehand when this will happen though. ;-) <-- Is on my “to do” list. ;-)

Monday the 21st of March:

Today I've once again picked up my long forgotten study (5 years by now mesa thinks!?) of the Lechitic language(s). Go see for yourself?

Sat 19th of Feb:

This may be of interest to some? Since I am on the subject of “universalizing” anyway. Today I've “installed” the Ubuntu font-family on my computer. https://www.google.com/webfonts/family?family=Ubuntu&subset=greek [Yeah, I am a lover of all offered fonts. ;-) ]

Unfortunately perhaps for any “casual” visitor who may or may not have this beautiful font installed!? *hint* I have per the advanced instructions included an @import rule at the bottom of my css file(s) for those who already have this font, you won't [or shouldn't notice anything special!? ]. When put on top I can see my page “flicker” which is not a requirement per se [I would opt for a fade in/fade out effect instead ;-) ]

This all means that you can enjoy these fonts too without installing them! However there's only one problem with this methodology. The time to render/load this page for instance may have increased (substantially) . :-( So until I figure out how to serve these fonts up locally. *The recommended way* You're stuck with perhaps a longer wait [It's all worth the wait though. ;-) ] Let me know what you think of this update?

Sun 6th of Feb:

I've updated my ssl certificate to better reflect both the domain name and its intent. Its serial number (Engage.inc): 00:8A:3D:4A:31:D2:E9:8D:CE. One can verify that I made this screenshot simply by importing my.public.key and then verify the following signed file. Just as I did a long time ago for the Ubuntu code of conduct text file. Tue 15th of Feb: In addition to all this I certainly encourage you to inspect the used certificate and once again verify that I've signed this myself. Now (for example) add me to Chromium.

Sat 29th of Jan:

As you can see I am completely redecorating the place! The used style will be familiar though. ;-) Other then “posting” regular updates to this splash page (should also load much much quicker now!). I for the moment have nothing special in mind, only that in the course of the following weeks I'll make my other pages where this one refers to follow suit. Enjoy your stay!

Mon 24th of Jan:

From now on this server can also be accessed by its secure counterpart (aka https). Your connection may be(come) a bit slower (because of that [after you've trusted this new secure connection of course. ;-) ])? I don't blame you for not trusting me btw, but here is the serial number (E.L.F. inc): 00:87:6D:61:10:C9:F8:7D:4C for those who are in the know.

Mon 3rd of Jan:

As of today, I am offering my pages in a compressed format (gzip) only, which thttpd supports out of the box! So if you're a firefox user like me, you can directly benefit from this speed/load improvement. ;-) Dare to compare? I have got nothing against apache's mod_deflate module though! But what I don't need to add/enable (on the fly or whatever) doesn't have to be taken off either. ;-)

Amongst things, some of the bandwith this computer currently offers its owner, is used to donate to a good cause. Which as of today (6/9/2010) has given this server: the status of guard. W00T ! :-D Also some of the cpu-time which this computer kindly is offering its owner (right now) is being used to donate to another good cause. See this widget for more on that.

PS: Hey (lookee lookee senator) look what I've stumbled upon (well sort off)! Btw... this is for Firefox users only! https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere For an even more thorough understanding of SSL/TLS go here. I'd like to add that to have an encrypted install could be quite useful, since you're interested in privacy anyway!
